Craps

How to Play

The goal of craps is for players to bet against or on various number combinations that are being rolled with a six-sided pair of dice.

When it comes to casino craps, players make their bets while the bank of the casino covers them. Aside from covering each player's bet, this game provides a lot of other kinds of propositional bets, as well. Such bets are clarified below.

The Bets

  • Eleven refers to a one-roll bet that pays out 14:1. However, the real odds would be 17:1 with the house edge standing at 16.66% - an extremely bad gamble overall!
  • Seven refers to a one-roll bet that pays out 4:1. The appropriate odds would be 5:1 with a distinctive house edge of 16.66%.
  • Buy Bets refer to bets where players pay out 5% in "vigorish" to get real odds on every figure. Only 4s and 10s make these bets worth anything and they lower the house advantage down to a 4.76%.
  • With Place Bets, 4s and 10s pay out 9:5 with real odds of 10:5 for a total house advantage that stands at 6.66%. 5s and 9s pay out 7:5 with real odds of 7.5:5 and a house advantage of 4%. 6s and 8s pay out 7:6 with real odds of 6:5 and an advantage of 1.51%.
  • The Pass Line bets pay out even money and come with a very small house edge of 1.414% - a great bet to make on the whole board.
  • The Don't Pass bets pay out even money, as well, with a house advantage of 1.402% - a bit better compared to pass line odds.
  • The Hard Ways bet is possible to do on 4s, 6s, 8s and 10s. The payout stands at 9:1 on 6s and 8s, and 7:1 on 4s and 10s. The house advantage stands at 9.09% or 11.11% , though - bad bet.
  • The Any Craps bet is another one-roll bet. If you hit 2s, 3s or 12s, the odds stand at 7:1 - a bad wager overall.
  • Field bets are one-roll bets that pay out 2:1 on 2s or 12s and even money otherwise. The house advantage stands at 5.55%.
